In their own words

Dimitro: Too much to share not to share it.

Laughter, good humor, and a belief that "it can be done" has taken me to wonderful places in my life. The two words "Yes" and "Let's" reflect the spirit and enthusiasm which drives me in life and in relationships. A third word, common in Greece, is "Come". The Greeks always welcome. Answering the phone reflects the same spirit when we say "Embross" .....That beckons the caller to speak. Photography, writing, and cooking and traveling are my loves and I do them with a great deal of passion and spirit I am a retired psychologist who worked with children. At this point I have much more time to do those things which did not get enough of my attention before. So, every summer I go the the island where my mother was raised, Samos, to do those loves. I have photographed the island for 10 summers and had two exhibits of my work there. The October clouds which guard the mountain peaks are capped with an astonishing rose color. And though we both know that I am "Ksenos", I feel a wonderfully deep joy when I greet the lady at the fourno in the morning. I have an old pre-civil war farm house which tests my fix-up skills. You know, I think that we really have to try to be what we ask for Before retirement , at 20 I was a professional cook in several beach resort restaurants. At 22 I worked in the newsroom and as a writer at the Evening Star newspaper in DC. From 1963 to 1966 I was a research psychologist for the army. Then I was a school psychologist in my city for 35 years.

Insights
Describe the perfect evening.
For one to cook the other a special dinner, sweet carresses in the kitchen for both of us, chatting at the table over dinner and wine. A wonderful weekend would be to do an overnight to any place which interested us. A historical place, a mountain town, the seashore, another exciting city.
